Welcome to another blogging tips session of my blog. Today I would like to show you how simple it is to start blogging and make money online like me and many other professional bloggers do. First you need to know that in blogging we need blogging software (commonly known as CMS) to help us manage our blog content.
WordPress is the most popular blogging software that being used by million blogs today. WordPress is popular as a blogging software, but many newbie bloggers are reluctant to install because it seems complex. It is not. Find out how you can create your own perfect WordPress blog in five easy steps.
T
he main advantage of WordPress is that it is a full content management. No matter how large your blog grows, WordPress does it for you. WordPress has many plugins to extend the functionality of which your blog. Another important benefit of installing WordPress on your own domain is that you have total control over your blog. With free blogging platforms, your blog can be deleted without notice. This is heartbreaking if you’ve spent time and energy on your blog.
So here we go. Just follow these simple steps:
1. First Think of the keywords and buy a domain name
What will you be? Make a list of keywords that describe your blog. For example, if you want to create a blog about dogs, make a list of keywords to a person to type in a search engine to find your blog.
“Dogs” would be an obvious keyword;. Others include “puppies, canine, dog.”
Now is the time to buy a domain name. Many hosting companies include a domain name as part of your hosting package, only to find a company that specializes in domain names. You may want to move the blog at some point, so the domain name registrar should be separated from its hosting.
Do a search for domain names, choose a company and register your domain name.
The best place to buy domain name is Godaddy. I have tried some other domain registrars but I have to conclude that Godaddy is the best one. You can try many domain registrars out there if you have enough time for some trial and errors. If you don’t, then just use Godaddy and you’ll be fine.
After the domain name purchased, it’s time to get hosting.
2. Find a Hosting Company
Choose a company can be found through the search, ask a friend what company they use, or ask at any forum for favorite hosting companies. A word of advice – read the files in your chosen company before purchasing their service. Make sure your host has a feature that let you install WordPress with only a few clicks.
Choose a company and pay for their service. Now you need to set your nameserver. You can browse Google to find information about how to change DNS tell you how to update the DNS (Domain Name Server) for new hosting company.
The best hosting company in my experience is Bluehost. They have a powerful server that you can add about 30 domains in just one account. Another hosting company that I use is Hostgator. I like Hostgator for their hospitality everytime I
contact them when I got problem with the server. Both are highly recommended. Be careful since there are many low-quality servers and lack of services provided by many hosting companies.
Once you have updated the DNS, wait 24 hours for the domain name that is updated by the web.
3. Take a break of 24 hours
If this is the very first time for you to install WordPress, you can succeed or may fail. Run the WordPress script – read your hosting provider help files again.
Since WordPress is so popular, most hosts offer that sequences WordPress Setup command. If your host uses cPanel, then you can install Worpdress from Fantastico or Simple Scripts.
There are companies that use proprietary scripts, so just do a search to find the script, and install it.
4. Choose a topic
With the script installed, you will come to your WordPress Dashboard. Now you can go to the setting menu to add what is your blog’s topic. You can find many great WordPress themes on the web, both free and commercial, so you’re sure to find exactly the right theme for your blog’s topic.
5. Add plugin
You’ll also want install some WordPress plugins. They are scripts that perform functions on its blog. Your blog already has a plugin that will guard against spam, so you activate the plugin. It’s called Akismet plugin.
Further plugins are useful to create a contact page for you, create files, and allow you to backup your blog.
